Accounting Associate

The next team member we hire will provide support to our accounting department. In supporting the accounting department, you will work with our business bookkeeping clients, classifying their downloaded transactions, enter their check details, reconcile their bank and credit card accounts and help create the financial statements that our clients rely upon.

To perform this job to the best of your potential, you will need solid accounting skills and be fluent in programs, such as, Word, Excel, and Outlook.  We use QuickBooks Online for client bookkeeping and payroll.  Use with QuickBooks Online is a must and a certification is a plus.  Knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing moves you to the front of the line.  On the tax side, if you have prepared a few returns or taken a class or two, we can work with that.  If your accounting experience has provided you with an opportunity to work with sales and payroll taxes, you are what we are looking for.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain company books and general ledger via QuickBooks
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and daily tasks with accuracy
  • Make quick accurate decisions based on information provided
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and vendors
  • Working with other members of the team to ensure accuracy and expediency
  • Understand the goal with every project you undertake
  • Oversee/create monthly management reports
  • Clerical and administrative support as necessary
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of company books & records
  • Maintain current corporate filing documents
  • Maintain an organized and efficient filing system online
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • A team player that efficiently and effectively interacts with other internal management

Who you are and what you bring:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • QuickBooks Pro Advisors move to the front of the line and sign on bonuses are available
  • Passion for working with a goal-driven public accounting firm
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Grace under pressure, the ability to switch gears quickly
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Strong excel skills are a must
  • Uncompromising personal integrity

  • Love for entrepreneurship and wearing multiple hats
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the financial industry or an accounting firm is a plus
