Tax Associate
As a tax team member, you will obtain information directly from clients, prepare their annual tax returns (both personal and business), and place in review with our managers and partner. In addition, you will assist our business bookkeeping clients, collecting information necessary to submit information returns, such as W-2s and 1099s. You will also conduct an annual review of the books and get the financial statements ready for the tax preparation process.
To perform this job to the best of your potential, you will need a solid understanding of individual and business taxation. Second to that, you will need accounting skills and be fluent in programs, such as, Word, Excel, and Outlook. We use QuickBooks Online for client bookkeeping and UltaTax SaaS from Thomson Reuters for all of our tax preparation.
Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Collection of company books and tax information via QuickBooks
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and daily tasks with accuracy
- Make quick accurate decisions based on information provided
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and vendors
- Working with other members of the team to ensure accuracy and expediency
- Understand the goal with every project you undertake
- Prepare individual and business tax returns as directed
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company books & records
- Maintain current corporate filing documents
- Maintain an organized and efficient filing system online
- Other related duties as assigned
- A team player that efficiently and effectively interacts with other internal management
Who you are and what you bring:
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
- Licensed CPAs move to the front of the line and sign on bonuses are avaialble
- Passion for working with a goal-driven public accounting firm
- Excellent communication and time management skills

- Strong technical aptitude in taxation
- Strong excel skills are a must

- Experience in an accounting firm is a must
